4.30.2019

I still remember the day I was at the hospital taking little Miss Isabela's newborn photos. She was the tiniest baby, with big bright eyes. Wide awake! I can't believe she has turned one years old already. Time really goes by fast.

Family and friends came together at The Little Gym in Greensboro to help celebrate her special day. There were lots of fun games, tumbling, balancing beams, cake, and lots of laughs by everyone. Here are a few peeks from her party.

04.17.19

As a photographer, it's such a pleasure to meet new families. This past weekend was a celebration of a beautiful new life in this world. While surrounded by God, family, extended family, and her Church family baby Gabriella was baptized at Our lady of Grace Church.  What a blessing on this holy week. A couple days later the family held a private party for family and close friends.

If you haven't celebrated with an Italian family, you're missing out!  From the dinner spread to the dessert table. There was no short of amazing food and music. Also Rafaella arranged to have the perfect cake and it was stunning.

Here are a few peeks from Gabriella's Baptism celebration.

They also had a face painter that was extremely talented and the kids loved.

03.31.2019

When your middle son asks if we could take some pictures on his Big Wheel bike.  I told him sure we can arrange that, he was like no I want to do this today and I want to plan my outfit and everything. This is nothing like his character, so I was totally up for seeing how this goes down. Ohhh he didn't fail me. He borrowed my sunglasses and put on his rain boots and we went to it. All the poses are done completely by him. I haven't laughed this hard in such a long time! 10 minutes in the backyard and so many laughs.

I have had the honor of photographing this sweet family over the years. I was thrilled to help capture their newest addition Declan who arrived late June. Big brother James is very proud and already showing him the ropes on life.

James is one of the happiest kids I have worked with. I love his spirit, and wish I had his energy. Coming to clients homes I really get to capture a part of littles ones personalities.

You can't not laugh and love this shirt setup!

The nursey details.... Adorable!

Congratulations Kensky Family, Declan fits in perfectly.

https://memoriesbymegphotography.zenfolio.com/blog/2018/6/oliver-strong Oliver Strong

6.12.18

When I first met Oliver, I saw a pretty typically 3 year old who has lots of energy, a smile that will charm your heart, and a compassionate little boy. Getting to know his story, I have learned that he is also such a strong little guy. He is blessed with two loving parents who think the world of him.

Oliver was born at 34 weeks due to a stroke in utero. As a result, he has several medical issues. One of those is Cerebral Palsy. His Parents Stephanie and Vernon take him to therapies several times a week. A big misunderstanding Stephanie has come across is that many people think all people with CP are wheelchair bound and have an intellectual impairment. This simply isn’t true. CP can have different effects on each individual with it. When you meet Oliver, you meet a very bright 3 year old with energy to burn! CP doesn’t stop him from being adventurous, just at times it might slow him down a bit.

Oliver was also born with a heart defect. It is called a sub-aortic membrane and it has recently gotten to the point where intervention is needed. Oliver will have open heart surgery in August. They will stop his heart and place him on a heart and lung machine. The surgery is tediously removing all of this membrane/muscle around his aortic valve. The surgery will be followed by 3 months of recovery time and taking it easy. Which if you have a three year old you know how tough that will be to keep them still for a long period of time.

Stephanie and Vernon have watched their son overcome so much already. They are such a positive, loving force for Oliver.

Thank you Oliver and Family for sharing your story and for such a lovely session.

Oliver you truly are a super hero!

6.6.18

Welcome little one. Samuel was born May 24th. Over the past few weeks I have had the pleasure to get to know his lovely family and extended family. You ever go to someone's house or family get together and just feel so welcomed, that your almost part of the family? This sweet family makes you feel that way.

Hailey is so proud to be a big sister. She has taken the role on with honors. Their family dog is as sweet as can be and super protective of his babies. In home sessions are what I specialize in when it comes to newborns, and are truly some of my favorite sessions. They really capture the family as they are. Well with me following them around. Haha!

Every Newborn Session must have a Tea party with their stuffed animals right?

The little details......

Their bassinet has been passed down for years. I was blown away by how many babies have slept in this bassinet. All the names are on the bottom written with dates. Samuel's name was added that morning as I took pictures.

Having grandparents at a sessions is a wonderful addition. I can't say that enough. I was thrilled when I heard they would be there.

Congratulations to the happy family on your new buddle of joy!

4.19.18

Welcome to the world, Holden! Born on April 9th, 2018. Joe and Ashley are completely smitten. Though I think big sister, Huxley may be the proudest of the bunch. She is so in love with her little brother.

I do love it when clients welcome me into their home for newborn sessions. You get to capture all the details of the nursery. Capturing the little details, those tiny toes, perfect lips, a little wisp of hair on top of their head.

How adorable is this nursery?!

I want to capture it all. The sweet, amazing, tiring, chaotic, and beautiful moments. It goes by so fast.

Daddy's boy...

When your dad has a awesome record collection, you have to have a little fun with some newborn photos, right?

Sheena their husky is such a loving dog. She is so gentle with the kids. She followed Huxley's every move while I was there. The perfect family dog.

This is love...

I thank you for welcoming me into your home. It was such a pleasure to capture all of your families love and memories.

Cake Smash

Turning one sessions are a family affair at Memories By Meg Photography. I remind families, it's a celebration with the whole family. Everyone played an important role through the first year of the child's life. So lets have fun and smash some cake together!

Carter did just that. He and his family played with bubbles, explored and played at their grandparents gorgeous venue. Then it was time to get the cake out and dig in! The boys didn't hold back. They had a blast together. Here are a few peeks from there session.

Birthday Boy

This little guy turned three! He celebrated with his friends at The Little Gym in Greensboro. www.thelittlegym.com/GreensboroNC

Here are some moments from his special day.....

Michael had a Hulk cake with delicious green and blue jelly bean cupcakes. He offered his guest fruit, goldfish, and gummy bears.  A three year olds dream snack.

They partied and climbed pretty close to every inch of that gym. The staff at The little Gym did a wonderful job of keeping them busy, playing games, blowing bubbles, interacting with song and dance, and jumping on a bounce machine. The biggest hit of the party was to knock over a mat, to make air fly in their friends faces. This had them giggling every single time.

Cake time!

Thank You Ted, Sheena and Michael for having me at your party and it was a pleasure capturing your sweet memories.  Happy Birthday!

Winter Weather Fun

January 17-19th 2018

We where predicted to get just a dusting to 2 inches of snow here in the High Point, North Carolina.  I think they where off on that prediction just a bit. HA! We ended up getting almost 9 inches of snow. It was that pretty snow, the big fluffy flaky kind. The kids enjoyed the days of school, with all the sledding and family time. For us southerners, this is a big deal.

8 . 31. 2017

Little Spidey went for an afternoon adventure. I love when we go on these cute little adventures together. He throws on his cape and off we go. Today's adventure was the local library. He read some books, played with puzzles, snuggled the soft animals, and checked out a few books. Oh and of course made sure there were no bad guys around to cause trouble.

Here are some photographs from our visit.

07*25*2017

You could feel the anticipation as I pulled up to the Yeoman family's house that morning. I know they were not only beyond excited, but nervous too. Who wouldn't be? Jace, their first born son,  had been gone on mission for 2 years in Argentina. He and his family had very limited interaction over those 2 years. They could only email once a week and Skype a few times a year. As you can imagine, that can be very tough on a family that is normally so close .

Since I have gotten to know Alana, I have watched her count down the days till her son arrived back home. I knew this was going to be an emotional day. Alana saved each and every picture and post from her son's journey, and had them displayed all over their home. You can just tell she was beaming with pride, anticipating his return.

Finally, we started to make our way to the airport. Soon after we arrived several other family members and friends joined us.  Seeing his flight number on the board made this moment feel real for everyone. The tears already started for some; tears of joy. The minutes dragged on as we waited.  More and more people came to greet Jace. I was so happy to see so many people come and support his home coming. You would have thought a movie star was arriving that day with the numbers that turned up! Then the news hit that his plane arrived. We watched EVERY passenger walk past us.  Ohhh the wait!! Alana and Richard were standing right next to the line that you couldn't cross. Alana was so tempted to break a law to get that hug!! Then finally Jace appeared in the distance. The crowd started chanting "RUN, RUN!" He took off running towards Alana and threw down his bags. They leaped into each others arms for that long awaited hug two years in the making. I'm so honored to share with you some pictures from this special day........

7*30*2017

This smash cake session was filled with so much fun! We had cake, pearls, bubbles, and lots of giggles. With my clients one year sessions its all about family. I encourage the family to be in the photographs because if you have ever raised a one year old you know it takes a whole family to get through that first year. HA! With most of my sessions I encourage family to be in a photograph or two. Family is so important.

Miss "E" was all smiles at her session. Such a sweetie and smitten for her daddy. After a lovely time taking family photographs. It was time for cake! She loved it. Jumped right in, eating and smashing the cake without a care in the world. The best way to clean off all that cake is a nice bubble bath. So we took it outside. Here are a few photographs from our lovely session together.

06.06.17

Don't you just remember as a kid running through wild flowers with no cares in the world? The sense of innocence and almost naïve about life. I miss that time in life. The care-free feeling. These flowers and the beautiful sun setting on us brought back some of those memories. Miss K was the perfect model. She put on her cowboy boots and cute little sun dress and was out for an adventure. She didn't even know where we where going at first. I love that my clients trust my crazy ideas! I knew she would love this spot though. She played, giggled and posed here and there. It was a good session and we couldn't of asked for better weather!

I enjoy capturing such amazing moments! After birth it is expected to be tired and overwhelmed, once you are home the experience of birth and the moments after slip your mind easily to easy really. These are moments we try our hardest to hang on to, remembering each detail of our newborn. How small or big they are, the newborn smell ( and yes baby breath it's amazing).

When I arrived Katie and Dan where so calm and in a rhythm with their baby, you would of thought they where parents of two already for years. Katie made the comment on how nice it was to have some one on one time with her little guy while big sister was at school. It gives them time to get to know this little guy. As a mom of three I can certainly relate.

One day in the not-so-distant future, your mommy will find herself wondering how you were ever small enough to fit inside of her belly. One day she’ll tell you all about it and you’ll also be amazed – because it truly is an amazing thing. Here are a few highlights from Baby B's sessions.

https://memoriesbymegphotography.zenfolio.com/blog/2017/2/blake-birth---arriving-out-of-the-or-room-to-meet-family Blake Birth - Arriving out of the OR Room to meet Family!

It started out to be a really rainy yucky cold morning on February 15th. As I was driving down to Forsyth Hospital labor and Delivery, I got the call that Katie's surgery would be pushed back a couple hours. Blake would be here a little later. I could sense Katie was anxious and just ready for him to be in her arms. She's waited long enough! A few more hours felt like weeks to a 9 month pregnant woman. I had my son with me, which isn't a normal on sessions but he is good friends with Katie's daughter and we thought they would keep each other company while we waited for the C-section to happen and for baby Blake to arrive.

I got the call that Katie was in surgery, now we just were to wait. What a exciting time! The kids where doing great. It was only a matter of time before he everyone could meet the little guy. Next thing we knew the sun was out and it was really turning out to be a gorgeous day. Blake was waiting for just the right time to arrive it seems. He wanted sun shinning when he entered the world!

I think big sister is proud don't you think??

Shortly before noon Dan came out and then it was time to see Katie come out of the OR with baby Blake! The many emotions that came next where just amazing. When Katie asked me to take photos of her family and get their reaction. I have to say her reaction was the best. It was beautiful! Everyone's emotions where just instant love for this little boy.

Congratulations Dan and Katie! He is a cutie! All 7lbs and 5oz of him!
